Throughout 2023 and 2024, PBS North Carolina shadowed Ripken and his family to produce a documentary in his honor showcasing the legend both at home and on the field. Shortly after Ripken’s untimely death on January 1st, 2025, the PBS North Carolina team that directed and produced the documentary were honored with a Southeast Regional Emmy Award!
